The Petwood hotel captivated me with its stunning grounds and beautiful gardens. I enjoyed long walks around the property, taking in the serene atmosphere. My room provided a lovely view of the garden, and it was spacious with a clean bathroom. There were ironing facilities and a hairdryer, which made our stay more convenient. The breakfast spread impressed me with its variety and quality. I noticed the staff lacked warmth at times, particularly during breakfast when they seemed a bit unapproachable. The folding bed for my son was uncomfortable, squeaking with every movement, disrupting our night's sleep. though we paid for an extra guest, little was provided for him in the room, like cups and water. I found it odd that while the hotel encouraged eco-friendliness with a towel-saving initiative, they offered plastic disposable cups wrapped in more plastic. Despite these minor inconveniences, the beautiful setting and overall atmosphere made this hotel a very enjoyable stay for us.

Great historic vibes!
I had a delightful stay here for 2 nights. The gardens are stunning and perfect for a drink outside. Had the most amazing Potted Crab for dinner, but those shower curtains in the bathroom were a bit of a letdown. Staff were super friendly too! Loved meeting all the cute dogs around!

One minor hiccup was the bar staff could have been a bit more attentive, but overall it was a fantastic experience! 😊

Couple seeking comfort and history
The room was clean and comfortable with lovely hot water and decent bath. And the historical connection was amazing, actually seeing the bouncing bomb really added to the experience.
It wasn’t exactly a bargain but still acceptable for what we got.
